Katie Halper

Katie Halper is an American comedian, writer, filmmaker, podcaster, and political commentator.

Katie Halper has been rising steadily on the Progressive media landscape. She currently hosts two progressive media Youtube shows and can occasionally be found on Twitter causing a little row with her razor-sharp, comedic wit.

Progressive Background …

Halper was born in New York City and after graduating from Wesleyan University, she worked as development director for the Downtown Community Television Center (DCTV), a nonprofit documentary production house.

She was associate producer for Estela Bravo’s film, Free to Fly. The documentary focuses on the impact to families that travel restrictions between Cuba and the U.S can often cause.

Katie co-produced Tim Robbins’ film Embedded, which was based on his play of the same name. The play/movie pokes fun at neo-conservatives such as Karl Rove, Condoleezza Rice, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld.

She also served as outreach director for the critically-acclaimed documentary The Take, a film by Naomi Klein and Avi Lewis about auto-parts workers’ in Argentina that walked into their empty & idle factory one day, set up their sleeping gear, turned on the machines and refused to leave.

Progressive Media Launch …

After a brief comedic run, Katie Halper turned to activism.

Halper is a national director of Living Liberally and the co-founder of Laughing Liberally, both of which promote political action through local, social interaction.

In 2019, Halper and Matt Taibbi launched and co-host the podcast Useful Idiots, which was originally distributed by Rolling Stone Magazine but has since moved over to Substack.

In 2020, Katie took her ‘The Katie Halper Show‘ podcast over to Youtube and has since gained a brand-new audience of Liberals, left-leaning Progressives and ppl that just like her smooth, very familiar vibe.

The Future ..

Katie doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

She often hosts 2hr long livestreams on her ‘The Katie Halper Show‘ Youtube channel and the topics can range from LBGTQ rights to Communist trends in America to what her dog ate for dinner.

The Useful Idiots podcast w/ Matt Taibi has regained its momentum since Rolling Stone Magazine dropped it from its lineup of podcasts – I guess, Katie & Matt were a little too unpredictable or controversial for Rolling Stone .. lol

The future looks bright for Katie on the Progressive media landscape.
